A
contemporary artist working in Brooklyn, New York, Barry Goldberg uses
a wide array of materials to create sculptures that relate to the human
body. The intimate experience of physical form is central to his work.
His sculptures involve the intensification of the
ordinary — where
a simple display of shoes can conjure vulgarity and beauty,
brutality and arousal, presence and absence.
Mixed media include: wax, glass, rubber, steel, resin, fabric, wood,
paper, ink, paint, and plaster.
