Barry Goldberg

A contemporary artist working in Brooklyn, New York, Barry Goldberg uses a wide array of materials to create sculptures that relate to the human body. Central to his work is the direct, intimate experience of physical form. The elements of a single sculpture often embody conflicting implications—vulgarity and beauty, brutality and banality, presence and absence. Rather than resolve these conflicts they are allowed to remain as a central animating force.

Mixed media includes: wax, glass, rubber, steel, lead, resin, fabric, wood, paper, ink, paint, and plaster.
